NJSIAA Media Guidelines / Fall 2020 Season

NJSIAA Media Guidelines / Fall 2020 Season

September 17, 2020

The following recommendations have been provided to all NJSIAA member schools.

At their own discretion, individual member schools may grant streaming rights for any/all regular season, home games. Because occupancy restrictions may limit in-person game access for families and fans, NJSIAA recommends that schools give on-site viewing location preference to organizations that, by streaming game and/or post-game coverage, are providing greater public access to scholastic sports competition. As an example, this could include the press box and sidelines. Those who provide news coverage of games also serve a valuable role and, at a minimum, may be granted access to both end zones, should they be available. In addition, schools have the option of providing working press with additional and upgraded viewing locations if they deem doing so to be appropriate and safe.

Whether coaches and players are available to the news media following games is the decision of host schools. Of course, all related heath guidelines must be followed.
