NJWFA: To address hunger in NJ, we must also raise workers’ wages

Analilia Mejia, Executive Director of New Jersey Working Families, issued the following statement in regards to Speaker Coughlin’s anti-hunger legislation:

“We applaud the efforts of Speaker Coughlin in leading the charge to combat food insecurity in our state. New Jersey residents recognize that food insecurity and economic insecurity go hand in hand. No resident should have to choose between making ends meet and feeding themselves and their family. As the legislature moves to address hunger in our state, we call on leadership to take action on legislation to raise all workers to a $15 minimmum wage.”
