Norcross Vows to Fight for COVID Relief and to Build Back Better in 117th Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) was sworn in to represent New Jersey’s First Congressional District in the 117th Congress.
“As we enter 2021, Americans are facing a grave public health crisis and an economic crisis. Working families, small businesses, essential workers and our military servicemembers need and deserve relief, and I will continue fighting for an appropriate federal response,” Congressman Norcross said. “It’s an honor to serve the people of South Jersey, and I’ll work to reverse the damage done over the last four years and help implement the Biden-Harris Administration’s vision to build back better by defeating the coronavirus and investing in our workforce.”
Norcross serves on the House Committee on Education and Labor and the House Armed Services Committee. In addition to his two House committee assignments, Norcross was unanimously elected to serve as Vice Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and was reselected to be the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee’s Parliamentarian for the 117th Congress. He recently created the Labor Caucus, intended to advance the needs of the labor movement, combat the issues facing working families and connect legislators directly with unions and union leaders. Norcross is also the co-founder of the Building Trades Caucus and Vice-Chair of the Bipartisan Task Force to Combat the Opioid Epidemic.
