Norcross, Working Families NJ Leader Analilia Mejia to Attend State of the Union

Available Monday & Tuesday to discuss: raising wages, economic & gender equality, DACA & an inclusive America

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross will be attending President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Tuesday with Analilia Mejia, the Executive Director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance.

The President’s vision of a divided America has ignored the interests of working families while enriching the wealthy and well-connected. The New Jersey leaders can discuss their agenda to lift up *all* Americans. (Click here to read their joint op-ed about raising wages and fixing the rigged system.)

“Analilia has spent her career fighting for hardworking New Jersey families. She is the perfect person to accompany me to the State of the Union as we stand up to the Trump Administration’s policies that only benefit billionaires and corporate interests,” said Congressman Norcross, an electrician by trade, member of IBEW Local 351, and member of the Committee on Education and the Workforce. “Analilia and I are both devoted to fighting for a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work. We’re partnering with our new Governor Phil Murphy as New Jersey proudly works to raise wages, promote equal pay for equal work, and lead the nation in economic fairness and moral responsibility. Now, the federal government must follow suit.”

“I’m proud to join Congressman Donald Norcross, as we highlight the true plight of working families and assist his efforts to rebuild this nation’s commitment to making the American Dream a reality,” said Analilia Mejia, the Executive Director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance. “For generations, this country kept a promise to its workers, promising a fair day’s work resulted in a fair day’s pay. This broken promise has resulted in increased economic insecurity for millions of Americans, but can be reversed through the efforts of Members of Congress like Representative Norcross, who are committed to raising Americans wages, securing common sense protections and promoting workers at every turn.”
