NOW LAW: Corrado Measure Streamlines Process to Obtain a Veteran ID

Legislation sponsored by Senator Kristin Corrado to standardize the process for veterans applying for an identification card has been signed into law.

“Our nation’s survival is dependent on the heroism of our patriotic women and men,” said Corrado (R-40). “Veterans in good standing deserve to reap the benefits of their distinguished service. Simplifying the process to access a veteran ID card will make a difference in the lives of former military members.”

Corrado’s law, A-5344/S-3833, will establish a standard of acceptable documents needed to acquire a veteran identification card.

This ID card is often used to receive discounts and other courtesies extended to military veterans.

Under this new law, veterans who have been released from service under honorable or general honorable conditions will be eligible to receive the card.
