NY/NJ Baykeeper Statement on Governor Murphy’s Missed Opportunity to Protect Liberty State Park Natural Area 

“NY/NJ Baykeeper has continuously urged Governor Murphy to protect Caven Point Natural Area since the beginning of his first term in office,” said Greg Remaud, Baykeeper and CEO, NY/NJ Baykeeper. “Naturally, we are disappointed that the Governor didn’t use the opportunity to conditionally veto the Liberty State Park Redevelopment bill to protect this critical migratory bird habitat and nesting area. However, we are looking forward to working with Senator Stack, Assemblyman Mukherji, and other legislative champions and fellow advocates to protect Caven Point through separate legislation.”
