Stephanie Schmid for Congress

Wyatt Earp, Ocean County Democratic Chairman, Kathy Russell, Vice Chair of the Ocean County Democrats, and Marta Harrison, former Mayor of Lakewood and current Lakewood Democratic Municipal Vice Chair, are proudly endorsing Stephanie Schmid to be the 2020 Democratic nominee for Congress in New Jersey’s 4th District. Stephanie won the Ocean County Democratic Convention in March, securing the party’s endorsement and her place on the organizational line in all three counties across NJ-04.

The group of leaders put forth the following statement: “Stephanie has stepped up and has shown community members throughout Ocean County that she is dedicated to listening to their needs and that she is committed to putting in the work to help bring change at every level of government. Stephanie and her team helped campaign for local candidates up and down the ballot in Ocean County last fall, which was greatly appreciated. Stephanie’s service to our country as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer and her work as a human rights attorney demonstrate her commitment to working tirelessly on behalf of our community, and we will be fortunate to have her represent us in Washington when we finally flip NJ-04 in November.”

Stephanie is thankful to have earned endorsements from this distinguished group. “I am incredibly grateful to have the support of longtime party leader Chairman Earp, and two strong, powerful women that I respect and admire, Vice Chairwoman Russell and Municipal Vice Chairwoman Harrison,” Stephanie said. “The Democratic party in Ocean County has been made stronger by their leadership, and I look forward to working together to unite our party across NJ-04 and electing new representation in our district for the first time since 1980.”

Stephanie is a New Jersey native, a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer and Diplomat who served our country overseas on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, and a human rights litigation attorney and advocate. She’s running to bring new leadership to Congress at a time when we need our leaders to solve pressing challenges and create opportunities for the people of New Jersey.
