OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP TO BEGIN RE-OPENING OF LOCAL ECONOMY
OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP TO BEGIN RE-OPENING OF LOCAL ECONOMY
Old Bridge Township, NJ – As a township, we believe that the heart and soul of our local economy is that of our small businesses. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 and the abrupt closing of those businesses deemed as “non-essential”, the majority of our small, local business owners were forced to shutter their doors and ride out the pandemic along with the economic uncertainty of their businesses.
A safe and thoughtful reopening of public facilities and parks has already begun within the township. We plan to bring the same thought process to our local economy. Over the coming week, we will be proposing a phased “Reopening Initiative” that will be inclusive of our small business community. We acknowledge that a traditional shopping/dining experience is not feasible without the proper adherence to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines. A consensus between our business community and local officials is to accept this reality and work together on a reopening plan that invests in the safety of the community, while spurring the economic comeback for our businesses.
Rules and regulations must be followed while patronizing our small businesses and will be strictly enforced. All patrons, including children, must correctly wear a mask and maintain the proper social distance of six feet from one another.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. We are counting on Old Bridge residents to assist in preserving the health of our community, and setting the standard for communities throughout the state.
