One Million Dollars in Grant Funding Awarded to Dunellen

DUNELLEN, NJ – The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has awarded the Borough of Dunellen more than one

million dollars in grant funding for two projects for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024. As one of only seven municipalities in the State to receive a portion of $3.2 million in funding to revitalize areas around transit facilities, Dunellen was awarded a transit village grant of

$529,000 for decorative lighting in the downtown area. The Borough was also awarded a municipal aid grant of $496,620 for

improvements to Second Street between Madison Avenue and Washington Avenue. Mayor Jason F. Cilento shares, “The Borough of Dunellen is excited to once again be a recipient of the NJDOT grants. These grants help the Borough further its goals of road

improvements and beautification projects without having a significant impact on the taxpayer. We have been successful over the last four years with over $4.4 million in grants and we will continue to seek out and apply for grants that further

infrastructure improvements.”
