Orange Mayor Dwayne Warren Endorses Congressman Payne
NEWARK, NJ – U.S. Representative Donald M. Payne, Jr., (D-Newark) is announcing that he has received the endorsement of Mayor Dwayne D. Warren, ESQ., of the City of Orange Township. Mayor Warren, an experienced attorney and Mayor since 2012, cited Congressman Payne’s support for affordable housing in his city and effective leadership in Washington in making his endorsement.
“Congressman Payne is by far the best choice for Orange and for the entire 10th district,” said Mayor Warren. “Donald Payne has a long record of delivering for our communities and securing federal funding for programs and priorities that have had a tangible impact on my city, like providing more affordable housing and high paying jobs. I know that Congressman Payne will continue to show up for us, and I am excited to support his candidacy for reelection.”
Congressman Payne delivered over $3 million in federal grant money to the City of Orange Township in 2021, helping the local Housing Authority provide much-needed access to affordable housing for local residents.
“It is an honor to be endorsed by Mayor Warren, who has been a valued partner as we have worked together to bring more federal resources to the City of Orange” said Congressman Payne. “Not only is Mayor Warren an experienced attorney with a record of fighting for voting rights and racial justice, but he has also succeeded in delivering funding for education and new law enforcement officers, and economic development in his city. I look forward to working together to keep moving Orange forward.”
Congressman Payne has recently been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund, New Jersey Education Association, the Communications Workers of America NJ, Laborers’ International North America Eastern Region, the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association and AFSCME NJ.
