ORNJ Announces 10 Endorsements Ahead of June 6 Primary Election

NEW JERSEY — Today, Our Revolution New Jersey (ORNJ) announced 10 candidate endorsements in advance of the June 6 statewide primary election.

  • Mario De Santis (State Senate, Legislative District 3)
  • Tanzie Youngblood (State Assembly, District 3)
  • Dr. Joeigh Perella (Cumberland County Commissioner)
  • Eleana Little (Hudson County Executive)
  • Thomas Senger Jr. (Hudson County Commissioner, District 1)
  • Adrian Ghainda (Hudson County Commissioner, District 2)
  • Mamta Singh (Hudson County Commissioner, District 4)
  • Ron Bautista (Hudson County Commissioner, District 5)
  • Stephanie Martinez (Hudson County Commissioner, District 8)
  • Alex Valdez (Hudson County Commissioner, District 9)

ORNJ recognized these local leaders’ deep and sustained community involvement, proven leadership, and robust, progressive policy agendas rooted in democracy and justice instead of machine politics and corruption.

“We are thrilled to endorse these progressive candidates in the 2023 primary,” said Anna-Marta Visky, ORNJ state coordinator. “As the June 6th election draws near, Democratic voters in New Jersey need to know which names on their ballots will be fighting for them, not corrupt bosses and machine politics. This diverse and accomplished group of proven leaders will ably serve their communities and represent tenants, workers and everyday people instead of the wealthy and well-connected. We look forward to supporting them and continuing to build the progressive movement in New Jersey in 2023 and beyond.”

The endorsements come in advance of the June 6 primary elections. The County Ballot Line provides candidates a boost in the primary election. Research has estimated The Line to be worth a 35-point swing using data from four NJ 2020 congressional primaries. Multiple county- and state-level candidates in 2021 were punished by being moved off The Line. Many chose not to run, and those who did, lost.

ORNJ is the New Jersey state network of Our Revolution, America’s leading progressive grassroots-funded distributed political action organization that was inspired by the Bernie 2016 presidential campaign. The core mission of Our Revolution NJ is divided into three key pillars: electing progressive champions at every level; fighting for progressive policies; and building a more transparent, accountable, and representative Democratic party. Our Revolution chapters in NJ work on issues like the Better Ballots NJ and voting rights campaigns, making healthcare a human right, police accountability legislation, and halting the escalating climate crisis.
