Over 100 Gather to Launch Red Bank Together!
Red Bank, NJ — Spring was in the air as over 100 registered Red Bank voters gathered together on Sunday March 5th to celebrate Red Bank Together, the newly formed team of candidates ready to lead Red Bank into to the future in the town’s first-ever non-partisan election scheduled for May 9th, 2023.
Red Bank voters overwhelmingly approved a referendum creating an entirely new government last November, triggering the call for residents across the political spectrum to join together and conduct a non-partisan, non-party affiliated campaign for office.
Respecting the voters’ demand to eject party politics from Red Bank’s elections, Red Bank Together is the only team of candidates that rejected a straight party-line slate, concentrating instead on candidate qualifications rather than Party endorsements.
“Red Bank voters spoke loud and clear: we want change, not the same-old party politics,” said candidate Linda Hill. “Unlike the opposing slate, Red Bank Together is not powered by either the Democratic or Republican party machines, but is a grassroots group of independent thinkers with proven experience creating and managing large budgets, leading successful nonprofit organizations, deliveriing critical business services and developing consensus. The only “big boss” we answer to are the residents of Red Bank we seek to serve.”
Leading Red Bank Together is Mayoral Candidate Tim Hogan. While a newcomer to elected politics, the 22 year Hudson Avenue resident offers vast hands-on leadership experience in his role as President and Chief Hospital Executive at Riverview Medical Center. Hogan and his wife Eileen raised their four daughters in town and are the proud grandparents of three.
Councilmember Jacqueline Sturdivant, of Prospect Avenue, is currently in her first term on Red Bank Council. Ms. Sturdivant is a corporate strategy, product management, and leadership development executive. She and her mom have lived in Red Bank over 20 years.
Sean Murphy, a lifelong Red Banker, resides on Throckmorton Avenue. Mr. Murphy is a proud member with the International Union of Elevator Constructors and serves on the Red Bank Zoning Board. He is the father of four.
First term Councilmember John Jackson of East Bergen Place worked in pharmaceutical advertising and marketing for 25 years, becoming a senior vice president and creative director before declaring his employment independence. He and his daughter moved to Red Bank six years ago, although he’s now enjoying the freedom of an empty-nest dad!
Linda Hill, of McLaren Street, is running for office for the first time. She has decades of experience as a nonprofit executive and a fundraising leader, most recently as vice president of philanthropy for a statewide senior services nonprofit. She is also a pharmacist and the mother of two.
Erin Fleming of River Road is an independent filmmaker. Most recently, Ms. Fleming directed the documentary short The Great Migration and Asbury Park, as well as the award-winning environmental documentary Drift, addressing concerns on Barnegat Bay. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Council President Michael Ballard of East Bergen Place is now serving his second term on Red Bank Council. Mr. Ballard is a senior financial analyst and a proud father and doting grandfather.
