Over 600 people attended the Induction ceremony reception of Mayor Tony Vauss including many local and state Elected officials from across New Jersey.
 
The Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc – Chi Sigma Chapter completed their Spring 2022 new membership process yesterday.

The Honored Bro Reverend Al Sharpton – Founder & President of the National Action Network, joined the Brothers of Chi Sigma Chapter for the induction ceremony. Chapter President Bro George Darby & Bro Nigel Coelho – Eastern Regional Vice Director coordinated the membership induction celebration that included hundreds of community guests, members of Phi Beta Sigma & Zeta Phi Beta, along with the representation of the following Divine Nine Mayors of Essex and Union Counties, New Jersey:

The Honorable Mayor of Orange, NJ – Dwayne D. Warren ( Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc)
 
US Congressman Donald M. Payne Jr. and NJ Assemblywoman Britnee Timberlake also came to congratulate the new initiates and celebrate.
 
The Chi Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc is the oldest Sigma Chapter in the State of New Jersey, and we were founded in 1923 in Newark, NJ. Beginning in January of 2023, it will begin celebrating its chapter’s impactful work in Northern New Jersey in the areas of Social Action, Education, Male Mentoring, & Bigger Better Business. Mayor Tony Vauss and his new Chapter look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion with the members of the Divine Nine and our New Jersey community.
 
Mayor Tony Vauss would like to give a special shout out & thank you to All the members of Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho and Iota Phi Theta. “Fraternities and Sororities symbolize all that we wish to accomplish in our lives and represent the struggles we all face, as we grow,” said Mayor Tony Vauss.
 
Members of a fraternity or sorority often share common interests and support one another’s journey through college and beyond. At their core, fraternities and sororities provide academic support and help young college students develop social and leadership skills.
