Oyin Owolabi passes the torch as she steps down as Chair of NAPAC NJ to focus on her campaign for the Township Committee in Millburn

Following a successful reign as chairwoman of the Nigerian Americans Public Affairs Committee in New Jersey, Oyin Owolabi has announced that she will be handing over her seat to the Vice-Chair, Jude Ezeh, as she continues on with her bid for a seat on the Millburn Township Committee against her opponent, Tara Prupis.

“In order to avoid conflict of interest due to the pursuant of my candidacy to become a member of the Millburn Township Committee and also to comply with NAPAC’s article V,” Owolabi stated. “I hereby pass the torch to my Vice-Chair Jude Ezeh, as he becomes the new chair of NAPAC NJ.

Oyin also mentioned that her candidacy for the Millburn Township Committee is off to a great start as she approaches the upcoming general election in November, and it is her desire that all residents of Millburn irrespective of their political party affiliations, come out and vote for her. Oyin stated that it is important to keep local politics local, and the issues pertaining to Millburn have nothing to do with national politics. “It is time to put partisanship aside and do what’s right for our town by voting for me this November 2nd, in the general election.”

“If elected into the Milburn Township Committee, I will seek to bring back transparency, good governance, and common sense to the township committee as my opponent Tara has failed to.”

While serving on the Millburn Township Board of Education, Oyin is a unifier, and approaches every situation with an open mind. In doing so, she gained support and respect of her fellow board members. Oyin will bring the same perspective to the Millburn Township Committe.

In addition to being a Board of Education Member, Oyin is an experienced Clinical Trial Manager, and has served on the Environmental Commission. Oyin has been a Service Unit Manager for the Millburn-Short- Hills Girl Scouts. All of these experiences have shaped Oyin into the person she is today and influenced her decision to run for the Township Committe.
