PAM’s List Endorses Valerie Vainieri Huttle for LD37 Senate Seat

(TRENTON)— PAM’s List, a New Jersey women’s political action committee that focuses on electing pro-choice, Democratic women to the New Jersey State legislature, today announced their endorsement of Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle for the democratic nomination for State Senate in Legislative District 37 following the retirement of Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg.

PAM’s List is proud to be publicly endorsing Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle for State Senate in New Jersey’s 37^th Legislative District.

You cannot think of our state’s strongest allies for women’s issues without thinking of Assemblywoman Vainieri Huttle. She championed the passage of the New Jersey Human Trafficking Prevention, Protection and Treatment Act, and has continued to advocate for trafficking survivors. She worked to restore funding for family planning services after it was cut by former Governor Christie. She has been a long-time supporter of laws on pay equity, earned sick leave, and paid family leave in our state.

Most recently, in the wake of the unprecedented nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court and the realization that the ideological balance of the Supreme Court had been significantly shifted, it was Assemblywoman Huttle who immediately got to work on the New Jersey Reproductive Freedom Act, in partnership with Senator Weinberg, in order to codify in New Jersey law, the protections our state’s women need.

The NJ Reproductive Freedom Act expands access to birth control and pregnancy-related care, breaks down the financial barriers keeping women from making their own personal health decisions, and ensure that everyone has the right to make those decisions, including when it comes to abortion. It represents so much of what we stand for and shows just what she stands for as well.

The New Jersey Legislature cannot afford to lose another voice that represents the needs of our state’s women and the hardships they go through. PAM’s List has a commitment to lifting up the voices of women who get things done and supporting those women who take up the challenge of public service. We are confident that the addition of Assemblywoman Vainieri Huttle’s voice and work ethic to the New Jersey State Senate will benefit women everywhere, and that she would continue the legacy of being a champion for women left by Senator Weinberg.
