Pascrell Celebrates Passage of National Defense Authorization Act

Overwhelming House vote overturns disgraceful Trump veto

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) tonight celebrated the House’s lopsided vote to override Donald Trump’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

“No American should ever forget that Donald Trump blocked a pay raise to the troops, resources to strengthen cyber security, parental leave for federal employees, and funding  for our defense two days before Christmas,” said Rep. Pascrell. “To veto military support to protect monuments to Confederate traitors is a disgrace. It took far too long for Republicans in Congress to stand up to this corrupt, failed presidency. But the House sends a clear message with this vote in Trump’s waning days in office. This vote is not about Donald Trump but about supporting our military troops. I hope the Senate finds a spine and overrides quickly.”
