Pascrell Condemns Shooting of Police Officer Feet from His House

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) this morning commented on the shooting of a New Jersey State Trooper that occurred in his immediate neighborhood.

“Late last night, a law enforcement officer was shot on my street,” said Rep. Pascrell. “The state trooper was trying to protect our neighborhoods and keep them safe. My family and I pray for the officer’s quick recovery and for the perpetrators to be quickly apprehended. I am very happy my wife is all right. Right now I am rushing back from Washington to check in on my wife and my neighbors. I have been in close contact with our local and state police to make sense of what happened. Gun violence is a plague on America. If a shooting can happen on the street of a member of Congress, it can happen anywhere.”
