Pascrell Praises Invalidation of Louisiana Abortion Restrictions

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today praised the U.S. Supreme Court’s 5-to-4 decision in June Medical Services v. Russo striking down a draconian anti-choice Louisiana law and for now preserving a woman’s right to choose in the United States.

“This holding is the right one and a good ruling for freedom.,” said Rep. Pascrell, a longtime supporter of a woman’s right to choose. “A woman should have complete agency over her own body. Any bodily decisions should be between a woman and her doctor. Period and end of sentence. The states and the federal government should keep their snouts out of any medical decisions a woman makes for herself. The High Court did the right thing in this case. Roe v. Wade should remain the law of the land and the right to choose must endure in America.”
