People Over Profits – Citizens Town Hall To Demand Accountability from Congressman Tom Kean Jr.

WHO: The New Jersey Working Families Party, Congressional District 7 constituents, and cosponsors: BlueWaveNJ, Westfield 20/20, OneNJ7, NJ7 Forward, Make the Road, and Indivisible Lambertville/New Hope.

WHAT: Join the New Jersey Working Families Party and members of your community to remind U.S. Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. that his extreme policy positions don’t represent us.

It’s been months since Tom Kean, Jr. was sworn into Congress, and his constituents are still waiting for a chance to ask him to explain his stances on crucial issues like support for working families, cuts to programs like Medicaid and SNAP, and Social Security and debt relief.

We know that Tom Kean has voted for harmful spending cuts to programs that help low-income families, seniors, and veterans. We know he supports the Trump agenda and that he has failed to condemn hateful, extremist rhetoric from other members of his party. And we know he stood by while his MAGA allies in Congress manufactured the debt ceiling crisis.

Tom Kean wants people to believe he’s a moderate, but his record tells a different story. CD-7 residents of all political leanings deserve to know who he really is. Kean has been asked many times to host a real town hall. He refuses, but we’re not going to let that stop us from calling him out.

We will be soliciting questions from attendees for an evening of discussion, sharing information and perspectives.

GUESTS: Antoinette Miles, Interim State Director for the NJ Working Families Alliance; Maura Collinsgru, director of policy and advocacy for New Jersey Citizen Action; Darcy Draeger, financial analyst and Morris County Democratic Committee secretary.

WHEN: Thursday, June 15 , 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Westfield Memorial Public Library, 550 E Broad St., Westfield, NJ 07090
