Perth Amboy Republicans Announce Stronger for Perth Amboy Candidates 2024

Perth Amboy (February 27, 2024) – The Perth Amboy Republican Organization Committee announce businesswoman, and former Wall Street financial professional Sharon D. Hubberman as the nominee for the City of Perth Amboy Mayor. Joining the Republican ticket are small business owner, and former Perth Amboy Board of Education member Maria E. Rodriguez, and skilled tradesman and former Perth Amboy Volunteer of the Perth Amboy Fire department Engine 5, Franklin Rodriguez for the City of Perth Amboy Council.

Hubberman is a community advocate who dedicates time to helping others find solutions to various issues: “Often, having a strong voice does make a difference in the community, however, what speaks louder is action,” said Mayoral Candidate Hubberman. “Action helps generate the collaboration you need to focus and achieve a solution that stems from mutual respect. When you bring a positive mindset, you get positive results.” Hubberman also volunteers on the Perth Amboy Rent Leveling Board, in which she serves as a board member and chairperson.

Both City Council Candidates Maria E. Rodriguez and Franklin Rodriguez are eager to address the current issues Perth Amboy city residents face, and are positive about the solutions our leadership will bring to the community. “I have lived in Perth Amboy for over 50 years and understand deeply the quality of life and financial struggles we face daily over various periods of time. Today, inflation is impacting us at the grocery store, and while hardworking families meet those challenges daily, we need a Mayor who is accessible for all of us and can hit the ground running,” said Council Candidate Maria Rodriguez. “Our Republican team will help make our town better because service is a priority, and wasteful spending is not.”

Hubberman had previously ran as a Republican candidate for County Freeholder (now called County Commissioner) in 2015, and is looking forward to participating in Perth Amboy’s first partisan race, “Perth Amboy is lovingly called the City of Firsts,” she said, “It is enrichening to study how our community, despite different party affiliations, worked together for many different causes. The cause today is to be Stronger for Perth Amboy. It would be an immense honor to have the opportunity to serve as their leaders and be the change our community deserves. Perth Amboy has had a long history of Democrat leadership, and we are hopeful our residents will support our Republican team and witness a First Republican local wave to make Perth Amboy Great Again.”
