Petillo, Yardley, and Crabb Announce Support for Lonegan
‘The strongest possible candidate to take on liberal Congressman Josh Gottheimer’

Hackensack, NJ — Sussex County Freeholder Deputy Director Sylvia Petillo and Freeholder Herbert Yardley, along with former Freeholder Phillip R. Crabb today announced their support for conservative Republican Steve Lonegan in his campaign for congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District.

“Steve Lonegan has been the most consistent and reliable conservative leader New Jersey has had for nearly two decades,” Petillo said.  “His record of accomplishment from stopping Governor Corzine’s toll hike scheme, to stopping the embryonic stem cell bond, to ensuring that there would be no new debt without voter approval — just to name a few of his efforts — is unparalleled.”

Yardley, a new member of the Freeholder Board thanked Lonegan for his leadership during the recent election in helping to elect conservatives across North Jersey, but especially in Sussex County.

“The recent election was challenging, but it helped clarify who conservatives can count on to help get out the vote and fight to win every seat possible,” Yardley said.  “Steve Lonegan is a fighter — he’s a fighter for our Party, he’s a fighter for Sussex County, and most importantly, he’s a fighter for taxpayers.”

Crabb added that Lonegan is the strongest possible candidate to take on liberal Congressman Josh Gottheimer.

“Josh Gottheimer is too liberal for North Jersey, so he is relying on the power of incumbency,” Crabb said.  “But, Steve has already assembled a tremendous campaign team and built coalitions of support in all four counties that will help him defeat Gottheimer and return North Jersey to the conservative column.”

Lonegan has already been endorsed by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), Bergen County State Senator Gerry Cardinale, Mrs. Ann Kievit, President of the Northwest New Jersey Taxpayers’ Association, Rev. Greg Quinlan, President of the Center for Garden State Families on behalf of New Jersey for a Conservative Majority, Alexander Roubian, President of the New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS), United States Senator Ted Cruz, Warren County State Senator Mike Doherty, Sussex County State Senator Steve Oroho, Assemblyman Parker Space, Assemblyman Hal Wirths, Sussex County State Committeewoman Jill Space, Morris County State Senator Joe Pennacchio, Assemblyman John DiMaio, Assemblyman Erik Peterson, Assemblywoman Betty Lou DeCroce, Warren County Freeholder Richard D. Gardner, Warren County Freeholder Director Edward J. Smith, and Warren County Freeholder Deputy Director Jason J. Sarnoski.
