Pinkin & Kennedy Support Governor Moving to Reopen New Jersey Parks and Golf Courses

Caution Residents to Enjoy Responsibly and Strictly Observe Social Distancing

(TRENTON) – Following the Governor’s executive action to allow state and county parks as well as golf courses to reopen, Assembly Democrats Nancy Pinkin (D-Middlesex) and James Kennedy (D-Middlesex, Somerset, Union), respectively serving as chair and vice-chair of the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee, issued the following joint statement:

“It is encouraging that our parks and golf courses will be reopening. As the weather gets nice and we approach summer, all we want is for people to once again be able to get outdoors and enjoy New Jersey’s nature and public spaces. The opportunity to get outside for fresh air and exercise will prove greatly beneficial for our mental, physical and emotional health.

“We remind visitors to strictly abide by social distancing guidelines to be safe, keeping six feet apart from others, and strongly advise wearing face coverings. By no means, do we want to see people crowding these spaces come the weekend and as a result jeopardizing our progress in flattening the curve. We all still need to be careful and mindful.

“We also kindly ask people to safely and responsibly dispose of personal masks, gloves and other waste at the end of their visit, so that everyone can enjoy the best of what New Jersey’s outdoors have to offer.”
