Planned Parenthood Action Fund Endorses Stephanie Schmid

Planned Parenthood Action Fund is endorsing Stephanie Schmid for Congress in New Jersey’s Fourth District.

“People need to know their elected officials are fighting for their reproductive rights, especially during public health crises like we’re experiencing now,” said Planned Parenthood Action Fund President, Alexis McGill Johnson. “Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to endorse Stephanie Schmid for Congress in New Jersey’s 4th District. With her background as a human rights attorney and reproductive rights advocate, we know she will work tirelessly to ensure everyone can access the care they need — no matter what.”

“I am excited that Planned Parenthood Action Fund is endorsing Stephanie Schmid for Congress in NJ-04. Stephanie is a dedicated advocate who has critical experience writing legislation to protect our reproductive health care, and we would be lucky to have her fighting as part of our New Jersey Delegation in favor of full reproductive rights for all,” said Kaitlyn Wojtowicz, Vice President of Public Affairs, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey.

Stephanie is grateful to have Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s Endorsement. “I am honored  to have Planned Parenthood’s support. Planned Parenthood is a critical healthcare provider for so many Americans and I am proud to be a longtime advocate and supporter of their work defending and providing reproductive healthcare across our country,” Stephanie said. “It is time for New Jersey’s Fourth District to have a leader who represents our values and I am honored to be the Democratic Nominee challenging Rep. Chris Smith who has spent the past 39 years attacking reproductive rights, including access to birth control and abortion, and denigrating LGBTQ+ rights. Together, we can replace the head of the House’s anti-choice caucus with a reproductive rights champion and elect the first-ever Congresswoman in NJ-04.”

Stephanie is a New Jersey native, a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer and Diplomat who served our country overseas on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, and a human rights litigation attorney and advocate. She won the Democratic primary in NJ-04 with 70% of the vote and continues to work to expand her grassroots coalition to finally bring new leadership to New Jersey’s 4th District for the first time in 40 years. As the next Representative in NJ-04, Stephanie will work tirelessly to ensure that we have access to the resources we need before, during, and after a global crisis.
