TRENTON, N.J. — Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey (PPAFNJ) Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, Kaitlyn Wojtowicz, issued the following statement in response to the recent death of U.S. Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. (D-NJ):

“Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and constituents of U.S. Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. His passing is a profound loss, and his legacy of dedicated service and devotion to human and civil rights will continue to inspire us.

“Rep. Payne’s unwavering commitment to reproductive health and rights stood as a beacon of advocacy and compassion — especially during mounting attacks on reproductive freedom. His tireless efforts to ensure access to vital reproductive health services have left an indelible mark on our nation, particularly in New Jersey. Congressman Payne was a staunch supporter of the Women’s Health Protection Act and did incredible work to increase access to health care as the Men’s Health Caucus co-chair.

“In this time of mourning, may we honor Rep. Payne’s memory by continuing the important work to which he dedicated his life. His passion for justice and equality serves as an inspiration to us all; his impact will endure in the lives he touched and the causes he championed.

“Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time. May they find solace in the profound impact Representative Payne had on the lives of so many.
