PLEASANTVILLE MAYOR JESSE TWEEDLE ENDORSES BRIGID CALLAHAN HARRISON FOR CONGRESS
[PLEASANTVILLE, NJ DECEMBER 20, 2019] Pleasantville Mayor Jesse Tweedle announced his endorsement of Brigid Callahan Harrison for New Jersey’s Second Congressional District seat.
“Brigid blazed the path, calling out Jeff Van Drew’s immoral stand on impeachment. She pushed him out of the party, and has worked tirelessly to earn support within the second district,” Tweedle said.
He noted, “I am endorsing Brigid Callahan Harrison because she is the best person for the job. She will make an excellent congresswoman, and I will work hard here in Pleasantville and throughout Atlantic County to help her get elected.”
In endorsing Harrison, Tweedle, who is founding member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, noted one key policy difference between Harrison and Jeff Van Drew, who, after switching parties Thursday, will be seeking the Republican nomination for the seat.
“Brigid and I have spoken about the epidemic of gun violence throughout the United States, and unlike Van Drew, she understands that a majority of Americans, including those in the second district, support common sense gun control measures, including universal background checks. I look forward to working with her when she wins election to Congress to help prevent further episodes of senseless violence,” Tweedle said.
