PRINCETON AND TRENTON MAYORS ENDORSE MICHELLE PIRONE LAMBROS FOR PRINCETON COUNCIL
Former Mayors Marchand and Palmer Host “Friend Raiser”
PRINCETON, NJ (May 5, 2019) –Former Princeton Mayor Phyllis Marchand and former Trenton mayor and Princeton resident Doug Palmer have announced their support for Michelle Pirone Lambros, candidate for Princeton Council, in the Democratic primary June 4th.
“Michelle is exactly the type of down to earth Democrat the Council sorely needs,” said Marchand, who served 14 years as mayor of Princeton Township. “She understands the real problems confronting our town and has real solutions,” Marchand said.
“As a former Mayor and Princeton resident, Michelle Pirone Lambros is exactly the type of Council member I’d want by my side,” said Palmer, who was Trenton’s first African-American mayor, serving from 1990-2010. “She’s smart and tough, and gets things done,” Palmer said.
Pirone Lambros said she was deeply honored to have two long-serving mayors supporting her campaign.
“Phyllis Marchand and Doug Palmer are exemplary public servants and dedicated Democrats. I am excited and encouraged to have their confidence and very grateful for their support,” Pirone Lambros said.
Mayors Marchand and Palmer, together with philanthropist Judy Scheide, Rose “Dede” Nini, former Dean of Mercer County Community College, and Princeton History Professor Sean Wilentz, are hosting a “Friend Raiser” for Pirone Lambros on Wednesday, May 8, from 5- 7 pm. All are invited to attend. Interested parties can find the address at pironelambrosforcouncil.com.
