PROBATION ASSOCIATION OF NEW JERSEY ANNOUNCES MURPHY FOR GOVERNOR ENDORSEMENT

Wall, NJ – On behalf of New Jersey’s approximately 3,000 Probation Officers and Supervisors, the Probation Association of New Jersey (PANJ) has announced their endorsement of Murphy for Governor for the 2021 campaign cycle.

“PANJ is pleased to endorse Governor Phil Murphy and continue supporting an Administration which prioritizes its employees in all branches of Government. We look forward to working with Governor Murphy and helping support the work of our Officers and Supervisors and their commitment to protecting our communities,” said PANJ President Dwight Covaleskie.

“As one of the largest probation systems in the country, PANJ members support an estimated 140,000 adults and thousands of juveniles. We are appreciative of the Murphy Administration’s support of our work, and the opportunity for us to represent our members as we continue to serve and rehabilitate our fellow New Jerseyan,” Covaleskie concluded.

PANJ has been serving their communities since 1904 and is the professional alliance and union for Probation Officers and other employees of the New Jersey Judicial Branch. PANJ strives to defend and improve the rights and privileges of Probation Officers and their Supervisors, and represent their needs on the local, county, and state level. PANJ has resolved more than 7 million cases through their various courts, emphasizing the important role that probation can play on the road to rehabilitation.
