Progressive Democrats Action Club Launches Sparta Chapter to Expand Grassroots Organizing in Sussex County

Sparta, NJ — A new grassroots political organization, the Progressive Democrats Action Club – Sparta (PDAC-Sparta) has officially launched in Sussex County, bringing together Sparta residents committed to advancing progressive values, civic engagement, and Democratic organizing.

Founded by community leaders Dana Gulino and Heather Diane, the Sparta Chapter aims to build a network of volunteers, activists, and voters dedicated to strengthening Democratic outreach and advocacy across the township.

With the support of the Sussex County Democratic Committee, PDAC-Sparta will work collaboratively with local Democratic leaders and community organizations to support candidates, promote voter participation, and advocate for policies that benefit Sparta residents.

“Our goal is to create a space for people in Sparta who want to take action,” said co-founder Dana. “Whether it’s volunteering, organizing, or simply learning more about local issues, we want residents to feel empowered to participate in shaping the future of Sparta.”

PDAC-Sparta plans to host regular meetings, community discussions, volunteer opportunities, and issue-focused events aimed at engaging both longtime Democrats and new activists.

Over the last 4 years, Dana and Heather have been instrumental in getting Democrats elected in Sparta. Co-founder Heather emphasized the importance of local organizing. “Grassroots energy is what drives meaningful change. By creating a local hub in Sparta, we’re giving people a way to connect with others who share their values and want to make a difference in their community.”
