Progressive Democrats of New Jersey- Atlantic County Chapter Endorses Mico Lucide for Atlantic County Clerk in Upcoming Democratic Primary

Lucide best represents progressive values needed to implement equitable changes in elections to bolster turnout and fairness

BUENA, NJ — Today, the Progressive Democrats of New Jersey- Atlantic County Chapter formally announced its endorsement of Atlantic County Clerk candidate, Mico Lucide.

“Mico Lucide is ready to modernize the Atlantic County Clerk’s Office. Not only does Mico believe in active civic engagement, but he also truly believes in the necessity for a better, equitable ballot structure — and that’s not just something that is needed in Atlantic County alone — it’s a Statewide issue,” said PDNJ Delegate and Buena Vista Township Committee candidate, Carlo Favretto Jr.

Will Cunningham, former congressional candidate for New Jersey’s 2^nd District, serves as South Jersey Director for the Progressive Democrats of New Jersey.

“Mico is the change Atlantic County deserves.  His passion and empathy are unmatched, and I have no doubt he will roll his sleeves up to get results for voters in Atlantic County to ensure fair ballots and equitable voter access in elections are prioritized,” said Cunningham.

“At the heart of being a progressive is making sure our government is responsive to people’s needs. Being a progressive means doing more than what is expected for more people than have been included. Every aspect of our society can have a progressive approach, even typically unpoliticized positions like the County Clerk’s office. My progressive values will guide me to making elections and voting more accessible to more people in Atlantic County through outreach, increased accessibility to information, and fostering the expectation that their engagement will create government accountability”, stated County Clerk candidate Mico Lucide.

Consideration for PDNJ-AC’s endorsement included responses to a short questionnaire and a short virtual interview.  All candidates running for the position of Atlantic County Clerk were contacted to initiate the endorsement consideration process.
