Regan, Escalante Announce Eatontown Council Relection Campaign

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Eatontown Borough Councilman Mark Regan, Jr. and former Councilwoman Maria Escalante have officially announced their candidacy for reelection to the Eatontown Borough Council. Regan and Escalante were first elected as part of a Republican ticket that swept control of the council in 2019.

Regan was raised in the borough and previously served on the Eatontown Board of Education after completing his undergraduate degree. He then served one year on Borough Council before being reelected to a full three-year term in 2020. Councilman Regan has been appointed fire department and emergency medical services squad commissioner since 2019. He is also the liaison to the Environmental Commission and Green Team.

Escalante is a local business leader and a lifelong resident of Eatontown, having served on the Borough Council until 2022. As councilwoman, Escalante was liaison to the Parks and Recreation Department and the Historical Commission. Additionally, she owns and operates the Imprint Shop, an embroidery and apparel company started by her father, Mario, in Eatontown.

In a first term overshadowed by the pandemic, Regan and Escalante kept first responders and borough employees safe while advocating for initiatives that enhanced the quality of life, encouraged economic growth in the downtown area, and improved curbside services, all without raising taxes for the first time in ten years.

“We need to take a hard look at what has worked for us in the past, what hasn’t, and build off those experiences to create an even better borough,” said Regan and Escalante.” At a time when our community is facing so many challenges, this election provides an opportunity to secure Eatontown’s future. We proudly pledge to continue to use our service-focused abilities to ensure the best possible outcomes for all borough residents.”

Some of their top priorities for the next term include improving public safety, addressing rising crime, enhancing public services, and championing measures that strengthen our local economy by supporting small businesses and attracting innovators and entrepreneurs to call Eatontown home while keeping a watchful eye on taxes.

Added the candidates, “We have worked incredibly hard to ensure that Eatontown remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. We are proud of our accomplishments, but more must be done to guarantee Eatontown’s success. Our commitment to our borough is unwavering, and we will work hard to continue to serve the people of Eatontown.”
