REP. MIKIE SHERRILL JOINS VOTE MAMA ADVISORY COMMITTEE

NEW YORK — Vote Mama, the first PAC focused solely on electing Democratic moms, today announced U.S.Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) will be joining the organization’s Advisory Committee. The committee provides Vote Mama’s endorsed candidates with support, mentorship, and a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like to run for office as a mother.

“I am thrilled to announce that Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill will be joining our Advisory Committee to support and mentor our moms running from School Board to U.S. Senate nationwide,” said Liuba Grechen Shirley, Vote Mama’s Founder and CEO. “Mikie is a phenomenal mother of four who understands exactly how important it is for working moms to see themselves represented at all levels of government. Having run herself, she knows firsthand how crucial it is to break down the barriers that keep moms from running for political office, and I have no doubt she will be a powerful mentor for our mamas.”

“I am thrilled to be joining the Vote Mama Advisory Committee to support moms running for office across the country, and especially here in New Jersey.” said Representative Mikie Sherrill. “This past year has been particularly difficult for women and working mothers. It’s more critical now than ever that we have more of our voices at the table, fighting for progress in federal, state, and local governments. I’m looking forward to working with our candidates, my elected peers, and the entire Vote Mama team to elect more moms like me.”

Women, and particularly moms of young children, face unique challenges when running for office. Vote Mama seeks to increase the political power of moms by stepping in to disrupt the systems that hold women back through direct financial support, mentorship, and endorsements.
