Our Revolution Endorses Peter Jacob for U.S. House of Representatives 

WASHINGTON — Our Revolution on Wednesday announced its endorsement of Peter Jacob for U.S. House of Representatives representing New Jersey’s 7th District. He is also endorsed by Our Revolution local group, Our Revolution New Jersey. Jacob is a community organizer and progressive activist from central New Jersey who worked as a licensed social worker until he began campaigning full-time.

“Social workers have a unique perspective on the challenges facing our society’s most vulnerable members,” said Our Revolution President, Nina Turner. “We are proud to endorse Peter Jacob because his experience serving his community has prepared him to represent the people of New Jersey in Congress. He will be a passionate advocate for our People’s Platform, legislation that creates the foundation for prioritizing the needs the people over excessive greed and lays out a vision for an economy that works for everyone.”

During his undergraduate and graduate years, Jacob was a student activist and leader. He worked with the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW), the YWCA, and the International Institute. Upon returning to New Jersey from graduate school he developed and maintaining a homeless shelter program through a coalition of churches, businesses, schools, hospitals, and individuals.

Our Revolution supports progressive champions at every level of government. By supporting candidates up and down the ballot, we are aiming to transform American politics to make our political and economic systems responsive to the needs of working families.
