Ruiz Issues Statement on Youth Mental Health Roundtable

Trenton – Senate Education Chair M. Teresa Ruiz issued the following statement after today’s roundtable on youth mental health:

“Unfortunately, everyone could share a story of how suicide has impacted their community or touched their lives. Children are growing up in an increasingly complex world and it is important we connect them with the resources they need to prevent it from negatively impacting their mental and physical wellbeing.

“Today’s conversation was the first step in designing a multifaceted approach to tackle this increasingly pressing issue. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to sit and listen to multidisciplinary experts from around the state share what they are doing to address youth mental health. I look forward to working alongside my fellow legislators as we craft and enact solutions.”
