Scutari Bars Armstead from Annual Union County Breakfast

On Sunday October 27th, 2019, Mayor Derek Armstead along with several member of the Linden
City Council arrived at the Gran Centurion in Clark, NJ for the Annual Union County Democrat
Victory Breakfast. When the Mayor went to enter the event he blocked by security; they even
called the Clark Police.

Mayor Armstead said, “Once again, Nick Scutari placed his own personal and political interests
before those of the party membership, as I was denied entry to a breakfast that was aimed at
unification. As I stated the other day, I didn’t make a contribution to the Dover mayor; it was
incorrectly listed on my ELEC report, and an amended report has been filed. Again, no bank
transaction ever took place.”

“But Dover is just a ruse; clearly, Scutari is angered by my communications with law
enforcement regarding his potentially corrupt acts. It is appalling that Scutari would again use
the power of his seat to penalize a leader of his party that was elected by the Committee
members of the City of Linden, simply because it is obvious that he is rattled by accusations and
potential investigation of his Low Show Job,” Mayor Armstead said.
