SEIU 32BJ Endorses Congressman Malinowski

(Bridgewater, NJ) — The Services Employees International Union 32BJ announced its endorsement of Congressman Tom Malinowski for re-election. The union represents about 13,000 members in New Jersey who work in the service industry.

“This year’s historic general election is coming up fast in a few short weeks, and as essential workers who have risked their lives every day during the pandemic, our members support leaders who have fought to keep them safe, and candidates who will fight for them and for all of New Jersey’s working families,” said SEIU 32BJ Vice President and New Jersey State Director Kevin Brown. “Our members want candidates who will stand up for them in our nation’s capital and protect the health and livelihood of essential workers, stand up for Black Lives, Dreamers and TPS holders, and advance a pro-worker agenda for our country and for our state.

“I’m extremely proud to have the support of the SEIU 32BJ,” said Congressman Malinowski. “Service workers have been risking their lives every day during this pandemic, and they deserve to have their healthcare protected by their government — not threatened. I will continue to fight for an economic recovery that leaves no one behind and makes sure essential workers, like those in SEIU 32BJ are protected throughout.”

Congressman Malinowski has been a strong advocate for labor in his first term. He fought for protection and relief for workers during the COVID-19 crisis, and he co-sponsored the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, which would strengthen labor laws and guarantee workers collective bargaining rights.
