Roundtable Discussion on Mental Health and Youth
(TRENTON) – Senators M. Teresa Ruiz and Joe Vitale together with Assembly members Herb Conaway, Pamela Lampitt, Gabriella Mosquera, Shavonda Sumter and Annette Chaparro will convene Tuesday for a roundtable discussion concerning mental health and youth.
With mental illness, substance abuse and suicide among New Jersey youth growing, the roundtable will serve as an information gathering session on best practices for addressing the physical, social and psychological well-being of youth across the state.
Individuals with industry expertise, spanning health and education, have been invited to participate in the discussion and will be heard from regarding innovative practices, how to better identify mental health needs among New Jersey youth, what can be done to support schools in providing services to students and what funding opportunities currently exist.
The roundtable will be held Tuesday, November 12, at 10:00am in Room 103 of the State House Annex in Trenton. The discussion will not be open for live viewing, but a video will be made available on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo1chL_L4kGu4ga3V0NNcfg after the conclusion of the session.
