Senate Budget Hearing with OLS, Treasury & Human Services  

 

TRENTON – The Senate Budget & Appropriations Committee will meet on Tuesday to receive updated revenue figures from OLS, to hear from the State Treasurer and to review the spending plan for the Department of Human Services, said Senator Paul Sarlo, the committee’s chair.

 

The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee’s hearings on Tuesday May 22nd in Committee Room 4 in the State House Annex:

 

11:00 a.m. – Frank Haines and David Drescher from The Office of Legislative Services will provide revenue updates and other topical fiscal and economic information.

11:30 a.m. – State Treasurer Liz Muoio and other top officials. The discussion will include Treasury Department functions, interdepartmental accounts and fiscal issues, including revenue updates and economic trends impacting the state. Homestead Rebates, property tax deductions, the minimum wage, pension contributions and third party administrators will be among the topics of discussion.

2:00 p.m. – Commissioner Carole Johnson, Department of Human Services and other top officials. The discussion will include: fee-for-service conversion update; behavioral health and addiction services transfer; Governor Murphy’s opioid epidemic initiative; nursing home funding; Transition plan for Developmental Disabilities; the Community Care Waiver waiting list; SNAP funding; Medicaid expansion update, and Medicaid rates.
