Senate Democratic Leaders Respond To Allegations of Sexual Misconduct By High-Ranking State Official

Senate President Steve Sweeney released a response to Gov. Phil Murphy's letter regarding the current draft of the NJ 2020 budget, a draft of which was sent from the NJ Legislature sent to Murphy for review.

Senate Democratic Leaders Respond To Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

 

TRENTON – Senate President Steve Sweeney, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, Senator Paul Sarlo, Senator M. Teresa Ruiz, Senator Sandra Cunningham and Senator Nick Scutari issued the following joint statement in response to the accounts of sexual misconduct by a high-level state official:

“We are disturbed by the news reports of alleged sexual misconduct leveled against a high-level state official. This type of behavior has too often been tolerated, ignored or dismissed.  Public officials have a leadership responsibility to help bring about the change in attitudes and actions that is long overdue.”
