SENATOR SINGLETON VSEEKS VOLUNTEERS TO HELP CLEAN-UP AMICO ISLAND
Moorestown, NJ: For his June “Serve with Senator Singleton” event, State Senator Troy Singleton will partner with the Burlington County Parks System to clean up litter on Amico Island. The event will occur at Amico Island, 81 Norman Avenue, Delran, on Saturday, June 3, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome to join the Senator in the clean-up effort. The Burlington County Parks System has worked hard to maintain the easy accessibility of trails, and the Senator will assist that effort by ensuring that they are also litter free. “Each month, I’m thrilled to see so many members of our community come together to be of service,” said Singleton. “This event will not only remove litter on Amico Island, one of our ecological treasures here in Burlington County, but it will also raise awareness and serve as a reminder for us to be more conscious of how our choices impact the environment and our natural resources.”
This event will be the Senator’s 53rd “Serve with Senator Singleton” event since becoming State Senator in 2018. Each month, Senator Singleton crowd-sources a team of volunteers to help with a particular community service project. Previous volunteer efforts include indoor and outdoor clean-up days, animal welfare projects, clothing and supply drives, painting projects, gleaning efforts, and community event set-up and staffing. To date, more than 2,100 hours have been donated by volunteers to local community service projects.
