(Atlantic City, NJ) My name is Shameeka Harvey – Cottman,  I’m pleased to announce my candidacy for Councilwoman at Large. I’m running for one of three vacant seats available as of June 8 , 2021. I’m  so excited for this journey as I’m no stranger to community organizing, and hard work. I understand the issues challenging the quality of life as residents, homeowners, small business owners, furloughed workers, women, seniors and children as I can directly relate. It’s my personal belief that adequate representation should be reflected on the dais where decisions are made. We need transparency from our leaders! We need boldness from our leaders! My team and I will run a positive and uplifting campaign, one in which  we will  demonstrate INTEGRITY, TRUST, HONESTY, & ACCOUNTABILITY in all interactions during and after the campaign trail.

Furthermore, I am opened to listening to the concerns  of the community with the complete understanding that the people of Atlantic City should decide who best represents them. The goal of rebuilding a stronger Atlantic City, one that thrives economically, and maintains safe and clean neighborhoods. In closing, I stand in solidarity  for protection of our rights, safety, health and our families recognizing that our vibrant diverse communities are the glue that hold this city together. With your support we can address the many challenges facing our community.
