Sherrill: Ciattarelli Doesn’t Have the Backbone to Stand up to Trump
BLOOMFIELD — Mikie Sherrill released the following statement today after the Republican gubernatorial debate:
“Jack Ciattarelli’s third campaign for governor has been consumed by nothing more than courting the approval of Donald Trump and Elon Musk — and tonight was no different. He doesn’t have the backbone to stand up against Trump’s tariff regime that’s killing small businesses, Medicaid cuts that will devastate seniors, cuts to education which will drive up property taxes and shortchange students, or his attacks on our rights and freedoms. In fact, Ciattarelli doubled down tonight on an abortion ban and cutting funding to Planned Parenthood. He would be nothing more than a rubber stamp on Trump’s dangerous agenda. New Jersey needs a leader, not a follower. No wonder Ciattarelli is scared to run against me, because I’ve got the track record to win in November and chart a different path forward for New Jersey.”
