Signorello Statement on NJ GOP’s Vaccination Stance
Before the COVID-19 outbreak, I took a stand for vaccines such as whooping cough, measles, and
polio. We eradicated these diseases decades ago thanks to the scientific achievement of vaccines.
Now, in 2021, after more than 600,0000 Americans and 26,000 New Jerseyans have died, it pains me to
do it again. We have (unsurprisingly), a GOP Gubernatorial Candidate who is proving to be just as
anti-science as the Republicans who have come before him.
With vaccination rates stalling, new variants of COVID-19 on the rise, and unvaccinated Americans
dying in hospital beds, I am calling on my opponent, Republican Party Leader Jon Bramnick, to
rebuke the anti-vaccine rhetoric of his GOP running mate and support the broad adoption of the
COVID-19 vaccine.
As usual, the Republican Party is pandering to the far-right extremists among us by embracing
groups like the NJ Public Health Innovation PAC, an organization whose mission is to elect
anti-vaccine advocates. My hope is that in LD-21, we can rebuke such nonsense. Jon, lives are
at stake, this isn’t a vote you can abstain from.
