SINGLETON CELEBRATES 50TH COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

“Serve with Senator Singleton” volunteers have dedicated over 2,000 hours to local projects

(MOORESTOWN) – Highlighting his strong commitment to community service, Senator Troy Singleton announced today that his monthly “Serve with Senator Singleton” events have reached an impressive milestone – 5 years, 50 events, and over 2,000 volunteer hours donated to local projects.

Since becoming a State Senator in January 2018, Senator Singleton has hosted monthly community service events in Burlington County where residents can join him and volunteer their time to a local service project. The projects are selected by the Senator’s office and approximately 20-25 volunteers serve alongside the Senator for two hours on a designated project.

“For our monthly Serve with Senator Singleton events, we essentially crowd-source volunteers and focus their efforts on a particular project in our community that could use some helping hands,” said Singleton. “Over the past five years, our volunteers have dedicated over 2,000 hours to these projects but the positive impact we have had on our community is immeasurable. I am incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished together and am so grateful to everyone who has worked alongside us.”

The Senator also noted that there is always an opportunity for people to get involved, regardless of their skill set, as long as they are willing to serve. He also noted that he brings together people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ideologies for the common purpose of being of service to their communities.

“As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, ‘Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.’”
