Singleton Seeking Volunteers For Community Service Project at Moorestown’s Fullerton Memorial Park

(MOORESTOWN) – In honor of Earth Day being celebrated in April, Senator Troy Singleton will partner with the Moorestown Rotary Lunch Club for a park beautification event. This monthly “Serve with Senator Singleton” community service event will be held at the Frank Fullerton Memorial Park, corner of Zelley Ave and Linden St, Moorestown, on Saturday April 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Tentative rain date Sun Apr 24).

The Senator and a group of volunteers will be asked to perform a variety of tasks needed to prep the park such as planting, mulching or painting. “The theme of this year’s Earth Day is to invest in our planet. Clearly, one of the best investments we can make is in our local parks, which serve as important social, recreational, and environmental treasures in our communities,” said Senator Singleton. “I want to thank the Moorestown Rotary Lunch Club of Moorestown for allowing our volunteers to partner with you on your mission to make the Frank Fullerton Memorial Park even more beautiful for residents to enjoy.”

The Moorestown Rotary Lunch Club is a network of local community, business, and professional leaders who address relevant social causes to positively change lives and build goodwill and peace locally, nationally, and internationally. The Moorestown Rotary Lunch club has over 80 members who come together for fellowship each week and is hosting a series of Fullerton Park Beautification Days throughout April.

Each month, Senator Singleton crowd-sources a team of volunteers to help with a particular community service project. The event at the Fullerton Memorial Park will be the Senator’s 41st “Serve with Senator Singleton” event since becoming State Senator in 2018. Previous volunteer efforts include: indoor and outdoor clean-up days, animal welfare projects, clothing and supply drives, painting projects, and community event set-up and staffing. To date, more than 1,600 hours have been donated by volunteers to local community service projects.

“I am guided by the idea that service is the rent we pay for living on this earth. These monthly community service events have been a priority for since becoming State Senator and they will continue to be. They have brought together people of different backgrounds, ages, and perspectives for a common purpose – to be of service to their community,” said Singleton.
