SOMA ACTION BALLOT BOX BONANZA

BALLOT BOX BONANZA

SOMA Action Celebrates Democracy in Action

WHO: SOMA Action, the South Orange/Maplewood-based grassroots social action organization, partners with co-sponsor SOMA Justice to get out the vote.

WHAT: A community celebration of democracy and voting, designed to help Essex County residents cast their votes safely and accurately. SOMA Action members will be available to help people understand their voting options and provide resources as needed. Voters can bring their ballots to drop in the South Orange gazebo ballot box, and have their photo taken by a professional photographer to mark this historic act.

WHY: This is the most important election of our lifetime. Every voice counts, every vote counts. The 2020 election is set against the backdrop of Covid-19, which has created confusion around the voting process. There are safe and easy ways to vote, but everyone needs a plan in these unusual times.

WHEN: Saturday, October 17 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM. Rain date is Sunday, October 18 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM

WHERE: The corner of Sloan Street and S. Orange Ave by Dunkin Donuts (2 S. Orange Ave.)
