Somerset County Expands Appointment-Free COVID Vaccinations to Include Rutgers Plaza Drive-Thru Clinic

Vaccinations Available for Any Adult Resident Who Arrives by Car between 10a and 1p on May 4-7

SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Somerset County Department of Health has opened up the Rutgers Plaza drive-thru clinic to any resident 18 years or older who arrives by car from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today through Friday, May 7. The clinic will be providing the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) one-shot vaccine, allowing residents to quickly become fully vaccinated to take advantage of the opening of our economy, culture, and recreation.

“We’re seeing the opening up of New Jersey and Somerset County following more than a year of pandemic restrictions, but we won’t be completely open without a lot more people getting fully vaccinated and protected,” said Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson. “Somerset County is dedicated to getting vaccine in the arms of anyone who wants to be vaccinated, and so we are making it easier than ever by removing the requirement to have an appointment. Just drive up and get vaccinated. It’s that easy.”

The Rutgers Plaza in Somerset (Franklin), is at 940 Easton Ave alongside John F. Kennedy Boulevard, hosting the Stop and Shop and other local stores. Residents who come to be vaccinated should use the Easton Avenue entrance and follow signs to the clinic.

Previously scheduled appointments will continue to be honored.
