Special Olympics New Jersey Grant Supports 22 Bikes to Lindenwold BOE

Every kindergartner will have the opportunity to learn to ride a bike in PE Class

Lindenwold, NJ (10/29/2020) – Special Olympics New Jersey Unified Champion School Grant places a complete All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Program, including Strider Learn-To-Ride Bikes, helmets, and curriculum in Lindenwold BOE.

This generous donation will help approximately 2,250 kindergarten students learn to ride over the next five years.

The Strider Bikes will be delivered to every kindergarten physical education class at Lindenwold BOE School and incorporated into their curriculum.

Lindenwold BOE Unified Program received everything they need to get their students pedaling through the Kindergarten PE Program. The program includes a proven, integrative curriculum, staff training and certification, the revolutionary, child-friendly Strider Learn-To-Ride Bikes, and helmets. The fleet of dual-propulsion 14x Strider Bikes start as balance bikes and convert to pedal bikes. This conversion makes learning to ride easier than ever before and makes training wheels obsolete. The Strider Education Foundation, the program provider, also offers continued support for each school to ensure everyone involved is successful for five years.

David Jacobs, Supervisor of Special Education for Lindenwold Public Schools, says, “We would like to create a valuable Physical Education program where all students will learn to ride a bike. The purpose of this program to teach all children in Lindenwold to ride a bike safely and provide inclusive opportunities for students with disabilities.”
