Stanfield, Peters extend free meal partnership to Robin’s Nest

Same anonymous donor funds another round

MOUNT HOLLY – Assemblywoman Jean Stanfield and Assemblyman Ryan Peters will be
holding a third round of free meals for seniors, this time with a new community partner.
Robin’s Nest in Mount Holly will be cooking up 100 boxed-meal lunches and partnering with the
8th Legislative District Office of Assemblywoman Jean Stanfield and Assemblyman Ryan Peters
to perform outreach, sign seniors up and hand out meals.

The legislators have orchestrated 550 free meals for seniors since March through a partnership
with Christopher’s Deli and private donors. They are actively seeking to expand partnerships
with private donors and local restaurants to support residents in need.

“From the beginning, we were hoping these free meal drives wouldn’t be a one-and-done and
we would continue the relationships with generous residents and local restaurants,” Stanfield
said. “I couldn’t be more happy or more grateful that the donor from our last meal drive has
agreed to fund this again. We’re also very lucky to have Robin’s Nest jumping on board this
time, which has always been one of my favorite establishments.”

“We’re excited to join Assemblywoman Stanfield and Assemblyman Peters in giving back to our
neighbors. We’ve had so many loyal patrons over the years that made our business what it is
today, so having this opportunity is fantastic,” said Robin Winzinger, owner of Robin’s Nest.

The meal will be a turkey and Monterey Jack sandwich with pasta salad and a cookie and will
be available for pickup between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27. Stanfield and
Peters will be on hand with masks and gloves to place the meals in seniors’ trunks. Those aged
60 and older are eligible for a free meal.

The Mount Holly Police Department will once again be helping facilitate the drop off so it is safe
for all residents. Officers will be on hand to direct seniors to the pickup location and make sure
meals are dropped off in trunks in a safe manner. They will also have a sign that tells seniors to
“Stay In Your Cars.”

“We’ve seen extreme acts of generosity during this pandemic, and I’m just happy I could be a
part of them. Jean and I take our roles as legislators seriously and believe a huge part of that is
our ability to be community organizers and leaders. It certainly makes it easy to have such a
good community,” Peters said.

Meals will be handed out in the Mount Holly Police Department complex parking lot on Park
Drive. Residents should turn off of Rancocas Road onto Park Drive and follow signs to the lot.
They will then be directed to exit on Washington Street.

Sign up will take place solely through email and phone. To sign up, please call the 8th
Legislative District Office at 609-667-7360 or email Chief of Staff Brian Woods at
bwoods@njleg.org.

Pickup will take place in 15-minute windows. Residents should stick to their time slot so pickup
goes smoothly. Residents will be allowed one meal each unless they are picking up for
someone else. Cars should pull up, roll down their window and state their name so they can be
marked off the list. If you are picking up for someone else, state both names. Someone will then
place the meal in your trunk.

Pickup is the preferred method of distributing the meals. If you cannot pick up the meal, you can
have a family member pick it up for you. If you absolutely cannot pick up your meal, there are
spots reserved for curbside delivery. Please reserve the delivery method for those who need it.
