STATE DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN JOHN CURRIE SLAMS DOVER’S DODD FOR LYING TO PUBLIC
Upon learning that Dover’s Mayor James Dodd has repeatedly referred to himself and his team as “Democratic” candidates, New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie released the following statement:
“There is only one Democratic candidate for Mayor in the Town of Dover this year, and that is Alderwoman Carolyn Blackman.
Carolyn Blackman and her team represent the best that the Democratic party has to offer. While she and her team were working with other Democrats to improve the lives of Dover residents, Mayor Dodd was endorsing Governor Chris Christie, defecting from the Democratic Party, and campaigning with Morris County Republicans.
Carolyn Blackman and her slate of Alderman and Alderwoman candidates have been endorsed by the Dover Democratic Committee, the Morris County Democratic Committee and the New Jersey Democratic State Committee. Any suggestion that Dodd and his team are Democratic candidates is a farce meant to deceive the people of Dover.
As Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, I am asking all Democrats in Dover to support the real Democrats in Column 2 this November 5th.”
