Statement from Commissioner Jonathan Young regarding National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
The statement below is by Commissioner Young regarding National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
“Each year, the second week in April is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. For the second year in row, we mark this event amidst a global pandemic which has completely upended every facet of daily life.
Public safety telecommunicators are the men and women who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to citizens.
At this time last year, I wrote about how the public servants at the Camden County Communications Center had been responding to the unprecedented demands placed on them during the first month of this crisis. I talked about how they approached the situation with an unmatched level of professionalism, composure, and self-assuredness. I am extremely proud to say that more than one year into this pandemic, I have only seen their level of service and care for the residents of Camden County intensify.
This National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week we are tremendously thankful for these incredible public servants, and for their determination to keep our residents and first responders safe.
